KCR, the chief minister of Telangana has sparked a controversy as he demanded proof for the 2019 Balakot Surgical Strike that was carried out by the Indian Air Force in response to the 2019 Pulwama Attack. Defending Rahul Gandhi and attacking the CM of Assam for his remark, KCR  said that the government should give the proof for the Surgical Strike.

As the nation mourns the cowardly Pulwama Attack that claimed the lives of 40 brave Indian soldiers, Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao sparked a major controversy as he demanded proof of the Balakaot Surgical Strike that was carried out by the Indian Armed Forces. Defending the charges against Rahul Gandhi, KCR said that there is nothing wrong in demanding proof of Surgical Strike. Addressing a presser, the CM said that not only Rahul Gandhi, but even I am also demanding proof for the surgical strike.

KCR said “There is nothing wrong in Rahul Gandhi asking for proof of surgical strikes. What was wrong. Even I am asking. Let the government of India show as there are apprehensions amongst the people.” He also attacked the BJP-led central government and said that BJP is good at spreading propaganda. Rao also alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is using the strike carried out by the forces for their political benefit. He said “The BJP is using surgical strike politically. The Army is fighting at the border. If anyone is dying, it’s Army personnel, and they should be given credit for it, not BJP.”

KCR’s statement comes after Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attacked Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi for demanding proof for surgical strikes. Today marks the third anniversary of the cowardly Pulwama Attack that claimed the lives of 40 Indian soldiers when a Pakistan-sponsored terrorist ramped an explosive-loaded SUV in one of the vehicles carrying CRPF personnel. India, in retaliation, carried a surgical strike in Pakistan’s Balakot and destroyed terror camps. However, several opposition parties in India have demanded proof for the Surgical Strikes including Arvind Kejriwal led-Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
