For the second day in a row, a CBI team is in Bengal’s Birbhum to investigate the violence case, which has reached parliament and the Supreme Court.

The horrible tragedy, which has sparked a new political feud between the Trinamool Congress and the BJP, claimed the lives of eight people: six women and two children. Other opposition parties, including Congress, have also criticized Mamata Banerjee‘s government.
A CBI team of about 30 officers went to the crime scene on Saturday to collect evidence. The team, led by deputy inspector general Akhilesh Singh, collected the case diary at the Rampurhat police station before traveling to Bogtui hamlet, the scene of the incident. The investigation was handed over to the central investigation agency after the Calcutta High Court requested “urgent action” in the case and ordered the West Bengal Police’s Special Investigative Team to hand over the probe on Friday. The CBI has been given till April 7 to present a report. According to the sources, the CBI has named 21 people in an FIR on suspicion of armed rioting under Sections 147, 148, 149, and other sections. Following the assassination of Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Bhadu Sheikh on Monday evening, rioting erupted. According to reports, some eyewitnesses said that firefighters took a long time to get to the scene. A number of those who were hurt are still healing. Anarul Hossain, a leader of the Trinamool Congress, has been arrested as the case’s main conspirator. At Rampurhat, Hossain is the TMC’s community block unit president.
Mamata Banerjee paid a visit to the area that has been ravaged by violence on Thursday and met with families who have been impacted. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also spoken out about the tragedy, demanding that anyone responsible face severe consequences. The state was also asked to provide a thorough report on the Birbhum violence, which the Home Ministry requested. Suvendu Adhikari of the BJP has been leading in the state against Trinamool Congress protests in the state.
