Covid cases in India dropped by 50,000, and positive rate dropped to 15.52 percent

Cases of Covid-19 in India: On Tuesday, there were the fewest new infections since January 19, when 282,970 persons tested positive for the virus.

According to the Union health ministry, India’s daily tally of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) infections continued to decline on Tuesday, with 255,874 illnesses registered in the previous 24 hours. This is a drop of more than 50,000 cases from Monday’s total of 306,064 cases. The country’s overall number of cases is approaching 39.8 million.

On Tuesday, there were 282,970 instances reported, which was the lowest daily total since January 19. However, the number of new deaths increased to 614, bringing the total death toll to 490,462. In the last 24 hours, 267,753 patients have recovered, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 37,071,898. The number of active cases has decreased to 2,236,842, accounting for 5.69 percent of the total caseload. There were 439 fatalities and 243,495 recoveries on Monday. The daily Covid-19 positivity rate has also dropped to 15.52 percent, but the weekly positivity rate has increased slightly to 17.17 percent, according to the Union health ministry. According to the government, the overall recovery rate is 93.15 percent.

In the previous 24 hours, more than 6.2 million doses of vaccination were provided to eligible beneficiaries, bringing the country’s immunisation coverage to almost 1.63 billion. The first dose has been given to more than 42.7 million children between the ages of 15 and 18, and the precautionary dose has been provided to 8,802,178 people so far.
