Self-styled godman Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, also known as Bageshwar Dham Sarkar, has attracted media attention by asserting that, should he succeed in winning support from the populace, he will turn India into a “Hindu” nation. He also exhorted everyone to uphold “Sanatan Dharma.” Days after he allegedly fled after being challenged by an anti-superstition group to demonstrate his “miracle “Bageshwar Dham ‘Baba’ Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, who claimed to have supernatural abilities during his event, is still trending on social media, with followers sharing stories of his miracles. Regarding purported religious conversions, Shastri stated “Hindus are being forced to revert to the religion they were born into. Some individuals are annoying. They need to learn their lesson. I would compel every Sanatani Hindu to revert to their ancient religion while I am still alive.” Shastri claimed that because of this, even Tulsi Das had to overcome difficulties in India, and he added, “Any priest, cleric, or another opponent of Sanatan Dharma will receive a response.”

 

Bageshwar Dham Sarkar, a self-described godman from Madhya Pradesh who is 26 years old and connected to the Bageshwar Dham temple in Chhatarpur, was born in 1996. According to some sources, Dhirendra Shastri’s family used to reside in a mud home and he lived his early years in abject poverty. His father was a priest, and he finished his primary education at a government school in his hometown. Shastri is said to possess miraculous capabilities like the capacity to read minds and aid individuals who ask for assistance. According to his supporters, one of the miraculous incidents includes Shastri calling a stranger to him in court. The person’s name and address are scribbled on a slip of paper before he arrives. He has a sizable following as a result of this “miracle” of Bageshwar Dham ‘Maharaj’.
