Internet shut off after Udaipur man was decapitated for social media post; state police on alert

On Tuesday, two men decapitated a teenager in the Matildas Street neighborhood of Udaipur, Rajasthan. According to reports, the deceased just tweeted a social media message in support of banned BJP politician Nupur Sharma. The killers broadcast a video of the beheading and even made death threats against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to the information given by a news agency.

Locals quickly organized a demonstration in response to the murder, which led to the closing of local businesses. As the situation became severe, internet service was shut down for the district for the following 24 hours.

To improve force mobility and keep cops on the ground, police said a statewide notice has been sent to all superintendents of police and inspector generals. ANI quoted Rajasthan’s ADG (law and order) as stating, “We’re analyzing the law and order to take future decisions.”

Ashok Gehlot, the chief minister, urged people to keep the peace and refrain from sharing any videos linked to the incident while promising to ensure harsh punishment for anyone responsible. “This is an extremely tragic event. It is not a minor event; what has occurred is unimaginable. The offenders won’t get off easy, he assured reporters.

“I denounce the horrible killing of a young person in Udaipur. The criminals involved in this event will face harsh punishment. In a discussion on Twitter, Gehlot pleaded with users to keep the peace and refrain from sharing the act’s footage. The murder will be the subject of a thorough investigation, according to the police. Several defendants have been named. To find the accused, police teams have been organized. The police chief in Udaipur was quoted by ANI as saying, “We will act upon the video of guys allegedly doing the atrocity.

The devastated family will receive assistance from the government, the collector of Udaipur said. “I ask to everyone to preserve tranquility, legality, and order. Stern measures will be taken

Gulab Chand Kataria, the leader of the opposition in the assembly, claimed to have discussed the matter with the CM. “Arrest those responsible, and help the victim’s family. This tragedy might have happened because of some organization rather than a single person. It’s terrible and an administration failure,” Kataria added.
