Kerala CM replies in Arabic to Dubai ruler’s Malayalam; tweet goes viral

The Ruler of Dubai while greeting Kerala’s Chief Minister, lauded the Indian expatriate community’s contributions to the UAE’s development and underlined the growing investments the two countries are making in each other’s economy.

Soon after his meeting with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in the Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, sent a tweet in Malayalam, which went viral on social media as several expatriate Malayalis shared it on their virtual platforms.

Alongside from the tweet, the Dubai ruler also published a photo of Vijayan’s reception at the Dubai Expo 2020 venue on Wednesday.

“The UAE shares a special relationship with Kerala. Keralites are playing a significant role in the economic and developmental growth of Dubai and the UAE,” he wrote in Malayalam.

Interestingly, Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid received a thank-you tweet from the Chief Minister in Arabic. “…..humbled by your hospitality and kind welcome…,” Vijayan wrote, adding that the state of Tamil Nadu in southern India wants to develop its ties with the UAE and Dubai.

P Rajeeve, the Minister of Industries, Indian Ambassador Sanjay Sudhir, Consul General Aman Puri, and MA Yusuffali, the Chairman of the LuLu Group, were also present.
