P. Chidambaram combats the search timing of CBI

 

The Central Bureau of Investigation filed a complaint against Congress MP Karti Chidambaram and four others regarding the visa facilitation case.  The blame was put on the former finance minister’s son Karti who issued 250 visas for people from China in an illegal way. The whole matter is related to Punjab’s power project.CBI put raids in Mumbai, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and nine more places where CBI starts their investigation against Lok Sabha Member Karti. 

 

Late-night on 17 May 2022, the investigation team arrested congress leader Karti. Chidambaram’s close supporter S. Bhaskar Raman said over this matter that investigation and raids are still going on. Apart from this, at the residence of P. Chidambaram investigation was also done.

 

After the raids, 76-year-old Chidambaram posted a tweet and said “This morning, a CBI team searched my residence at Chennai and my official residence at Delhi. The team showed me an FIR in which I am not named as an accused. The search team found nothing and seized nothing. I may point out that the timing of the search is interesting’’.

 

According to sources, officers told that in this whole matter CBI blames the son of P. Chidambaram it alleged that during 1980 megawatt’s Talwandi Sabo Power Ltd. in the month of July-August in the year 2011 in china provide visa to 263 workers and take 50 lakh rupees as a bribe for that. Over this Karti showed his resentment through a tweet and said that “Now I forget the counting how many times it happened? Must be a record’’. Later he posted another tweet and said “CBI gave an update to me regarding the raids and my office has just updated on the ‘’record’’  twice in 2015, once in 2017, twice in 2018 & today’’.
