The appeal to hold online boards will be heard by a bench led by Justice Khanwilkar on February 23. 

 

The Supreme Court of India, on February 22, consented to hear an appeal that looks for the abolition of offline exams for 10th and 12th classes to be controlled by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and other boards this year. The appeal will be heard by Justice A M Khanwilkar on Wednesday, February 23.

A bench led by Justice A.M Khanwilkar said that an updated copy of the petition will be served to the standing authorities for the CBSE and other authorities concerned. The appeal was alluded to an imperative listing before the bench, also comprising Justice Dinesh Maheshwari and Justice CT Ravikumar. The council, appearing for petitioner Anubha Shrivastava Sahai, alluded to the matter and pleaded with the bench to list it urgently.

The appeal has delivered directions to the CBSE and other boards, which have been suggested to hold board examinations of class 10th and 12th in physical mode and to contrive other manners of evaluation.

The appeal filed by the students of over 15 states sought a neighboring evaluation method for the upcoming board exams. Last year, CBSE, CISCE, ICSE, and other state boards decided to evaluate students on the basis of alternative assessment criteria, students were assessed on the basis of their internal exams and a formula devised by the board.

The CBSE has announced the dates of the 2nd term exams for classes 10 and 12. It will be held from 26th of April. Meanwhile, the CISCE is likely to conduct the ICSE exam for Class 10th and ISC for Class 12th that will be held in the last week of April. According to the statement, the detailed schedule of CISCE will be released soon.
