Ukraine’s envoy Igor Polikh compares Russia’s invasion to Mughals massacre of Rajputs

Ukraine’s envoy to India Igor Polikha on Tuesday compared Russia’s military campaign against his nation to a “massacre organized by the Mughals against Rajputs”. Envoy to India Igor Polikha, who paid a visit to the MEA said his country is urging every powerful world leader, including Prime Minister Modi, to utilize all available resources to stop Putin’s attack.

Following the death of an Indian student in Russian shelling in Kharkiv, Polikha, the Ukraine’s envoy,  who paid a visit to the ministry of external affairs (MEA), said his country was urging every influential world leader, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to use all available resources against Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop the attack.

It’s similar to the Mughal genocide of Rajputs. We are requesting that all-powerful international leaders, including Modi Ji, utilize every resource at their disposal to put pressure on Putin to halt bombing and shelling,” the ambassador was quoted as saying.

Ukarine’s envoy, during his meeting with MEA officials, said that they discussed the procedures of India’s humanitarian contribution to Ukraine. He said, “We owe India a debt of gratitude for initiating this assistance. Today is likely to be the first plane to land in Poland. The foreign secretary guaranteed me that Ukraine will get maximum humanitarian aid.”

“My heartfelt condolences on the death of Indian student Naveen Shekharappa in Kharkiv, Ukraine, who was killed in shelling in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Previously, shelling and bombings took place on military sites, but today they are also occurring in civilian areas,” he noted.

MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said earlier that foreign secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla was calling in ambassadors from Russia and Ukraine to underscore India’s demand for immediate safe passage for its nationals who are trapped in Kharkiv and other war zones. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting with all the union ministers, foreign ministers, and others following the death of an Indian student in Ukraine conflict zones.
