Amit Shah to hold Brainstorming Session for upcoming UP Polls

Union Home Minister and former BJP National President Amit Shah will be in Varanasi to chair a mega meeting on November 12 to discuss how the UP campaign should run, what the preparations are. 

Amit Shah is all geared up to repeat BJP’s 2017 UP Assembly Polls results. The former BJP National President will be in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s constituency- Varanasi on November 12, he will be attending the ‘Akhil Bharatiya Rajbhasha Sammelan.’ The meeting is significant in view of the upcoming assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh as Shah is considered the architect of the BJP’s turnaround in the state. He will be on a two-day visit to Uttar Pradesh. 

As per the sources, nearly 700 leaders will be attending the crucial brainstorming session chaired by Amit Shah. All 98 district presidents and as many districts in charge of the party, the in-charges of all 403 assembly constituencies, six regional presidents of the party in Uttar Pradesh, all senior state BJP functionaries as well as in charges and co-in charges of the party at the state level have been called to Varanasi on November 12 for the mega meeting. The top brass of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state unit has also been called to Varanasi, these include Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, state BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh, both the Deputy Chief Ministers and the entire team of the state in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan will also be reaching Varanasi.

Shah’s two-day visit to the region is also said to boost the leadership and cadre of the region. The meeting is expected to go throughout the day on November 12. The next day Shah will be visiting Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav’s constituency, Azamgarh. The BJP is also planning to start the ‘Parivartan Yatra’ of the party leaders in the state from next month. The brainstorming session with the party leaders will be held at the Deendayal Hastkal Sankul, a trade center and museum in the city.

The next elections are expected to be held in Uttar Pradesh between February and March next year to elect 403 members of the state’s legislative assembly. The Election Commission of India (ECI) is likely to announce the schedule in January. The term of the current assembly elected in 2017 will expire on May 14, 2022. Amit Shah is credited to have been the man behind BJP’s stupendous victory in UP in the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, 2017 Assembly Polls, and 2019 Lok Sabha Elections.
