Mamata Banerjee on Rahul Gandhi: “Cannot be abroad half of the time”
Mamata Banerjee took a jibe at Rahul Gandhi saying “Cannot be abroad half of the time”. The Trinamool Congress led by her is on an extensive nationwide outreach programme and is trying to replace the grand old Congress party as the principal opposition party at the National level.
Mamata Banerjee’s All India Trinamool Congress has made her intention clear that they want to replace Congress as the principal challenger to the Bharatiya Janata Party at the National level. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who was on a two-day visit to Mumbai first met Aaditya Thackeray and then had a crucial meeting with NCP patriarch, Sharad Pawar. Soon after the meeting, Mamata said “What’s UPA? There is no UPA now!”
Mamata also took a jibe at the Congress leader and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi. Addressing the media, Mamata Banerjee said “If one does not do anything and is abroad most of the time, then how will one do politics. There should be a continuous approach to politics.” Mamata further added “The Constitution of India and the democratic system of the country is such that just the opposition unity will not help. Why am I traveling so much? Who wants to leave West Bengal and go around traveling everywhere? I do that so that others also do the same and there is competition among various parties. I strongly want the federal structure to be strong and if all the regional parties are together, it will be a very easy game to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party.”
The Trinamool Congress supremo, Mamata Banerjee was on a two-day visit to the financial capital where she interacted with eminent personalities of the film industry as well as members of the civil societies as a part of the outreach programme. The people who were present at the conference at the YB Chavan Centre included filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, actress Swara Bhaskar, Pritish Nandy, Shatrugan Sinha, and others. The TMC is working hard to project itself as the challenger to the BJP and for the same, they have been poaching the Congress leaders from different states of India. Recently the All India Trinamool Congress inducted Congress leaders like Sushmita Dev, Kirti Azad, Mukul Sangma and many others.
