Addressing a presser in Indore, actress-turned-politician Hema Malini said that after the Restoration of Ram Janmabhoomi at Ayodhya and Shiva temple in Kashi, Mathura is important.

Actress Hema Malini has given a politically loaded statement. Addressing a press conference in Indore, the actress-turned-politician said that after the renovation of a grand temple at Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya and a grand temple at Kashi, Mathura should also get a Grand Temple. Hema Malini, who is the Member of Parliament (MP) from Mathura, referring to the recently inaugurated Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, said that the temple in Mathura could also be renovated and beautified in a grand manner. Mathura is said to be the birthplace of Lord Krishna.

The beautiful actress was in Indore to participate in an event where she said “Being the MP of Mathura, which is the birthplace of Lord Krishan who is the symbol of love and affection, I will say that there should be a grand temple. A temple is already there and can be beautified like Modi-Ji [Prime Minister Narendra Modi] developed Kashi Vishwanath corridor and the river Ganga can be seen directly from the temple.”

Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Keshav Prasad Maurya has also stated that after a grand Ram temple at Ayodhya and a grand Shiva temple at Kashi, the preparations for a Grand Temple at Mathura is underway. Maurya’s remark drew huge criticism from opposition parties and they even labeled the statement nothing but a fake issue raised at a time when Legislative Assembly Elections in UP are coming up. A few days ago, the Mathura city police have imposed Section 144 prohibiting the gathering of 4-5 together when right-wing organizations threatened to stall Krishna’s idol in the disputed site. The Shahi Idgah located just to the Temple is believed to be the actual birthplace of Lord Krishna by many Hindus and the dispute has been going for years.

Must Watch

Now, with the BJP raising the issue again, a question arises- “Is this all for wooing the Hindu Voters for the Upcoming 2022 Uttar Pradesh Elections?” Earlier, the union government has included Mathura as one of the heritage cities for the National Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY). Other cities that are a part of HRIDAY include Ajmer, Puri, Varanasi, Vellore, Dwarka, and Gaya.
