5 mompreneurs breaking the gender stereotype and running a successful business

In today’s world, women are successfully achieving their goals and fulfilling their dreams. With their constructive approach, they inspire many other mompreneurs to achieve their goals in business. From taking care of children to manifesting their hold in business trends, mompreneurs juggle between their roles and fulfil all responsibilities efficiently. With fierce passion and determination, these women are making a huge impact in the industry and emerging as business leaders. Leaving behind gender inequality and contributing to nation-building, here are some of the mompreneurs who are breaking the gender stereotype with new innovative ideas.     

1. Vineeta Singh

One of the renowned mompreneurs is Vineeta Singh, the CEO of homegrown brand SUGAR cosmetics. Vineeta founded the company in 2012 and despite being a mom of two, Vineeta has accomplished a milestone in the business industry. Vineeta pursued her electrical engineering at IIT Madras and then completed her business studies at IIM Ahmedabad. Sugar founder has proved that risks that are taken with perfect determination are worth taking. Today Sugar cosmetics’ net worth is about 8 million Dollars and Vineeta aims at manufacturing products that are uniquely suitable for Indian skin tones and are made in India.

2. Ghazal Alagh

Mother of two boys, Ghazal Alagh is the co-founder of MamaEarth. She started this venture back in 2016 with her partner Varun to make the toxin-free baby products. Their company makes bamboo-based wipes. She came across this idea when her son faced side effects. MamaEarth is known for its European standard safety and for making toxin-free products. She is also known as one of the sharks from the business reality show Shark Tank India. 

3. Namita Thapar

Namita Thapar is one of the leading businesswomen and the CEO of Emcure Pharmaceuticals. Emcure Pharmaceuticals is a multinational company based in Pune, Maharashtra. She has proven her multitasking capabilities by keeping a balance between raising children and having a successful career at the same time. She completed her MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business in North Carolina. Namita is also a verified Chartered Accountant from ICAI. Earlier, Namita worked at Guidant Corporation in the US for six years before joining her father’s company, Emcure Pharmaceuticals. 

4. Nidhi Batra

It’s said that passion for something can move people beyond their limits and proving it to be true, one such woman is Nidhi Batra who is co-founder of Nirvana Excursions. She is the mother of two kids, Nidhi founded this venture in 2013. It is exclusively known for its special travel experiences and customised solutions. As an entrepreneur, she always created a balance between work and home. She pursued her master’s in International Journalism from Cardiff University, Wales (UK). Earlier, she worked as a television producer at NDTV but later, she wanted to explore the world beyond media and years later she started her venture of Travelling agency.  

5. Meena Bindra

Probably every woman has heard the name of the highly aesthetic ethnic brand BIBA. Meena Bindra changed her boredom into a creative business plan. While raising her two children, she maintained her business at the same time. Today, BIBA is one of the leading fashion brands in India and is all set to cross the mark in the International market. Once for this business venture, she took a loan of 8000 Rs from the Bank, and now her company’s turnover is in crores. Meena Bindra has inspired many mompreneurs and the advice to every aspiring entrepreneur is that “If You have the passion, then just go for it!”
