PM Modi and Sharad Pawar greet each other on stage, causes unrest in Opposition

While on the one hand, there is a tussle between the BJP and the opposition in Delhi over some issues. On the other hand, the senior leader of the INDIA alliance Sharad Pawar met the Prime Minister at an event in Pune on Tuesday. Sharad Pawar and PM Modi greet each other very warmly and the PM also enquires about the health of the veteran Marathi leader. The meeting of these two leaders has created panic in the political world. On the 103rd death anniversary of the great Indian freedom fighter Bal Gangadhar Lokmanya Tilak, PM Modi was conferred with the Lokmanya Tilak National Award. The event is organised by Lokmanya Tilak Smarak Mandir Trust, where Sharad Pawar was present as a Chief Guest. 

 

Along with Sharad Pawar, the senior congress leader and former home minister of India Sushil Kumar Shinde was also present at the event, their presence created havoc in the opposition alliance. Uddhav Thackeray led Shiv-Sena and other opposition parties like Congress and Aam Aadmi Party were requesting both the leaders to turn their back from the event, because their attendance can raise questions on the unity of the opposition. 

 

Apart from the Award ceremony, PM Modi also flagged off the complete section of the Pune metro, designs of some metro stations drew inspiration from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the Prime Minister handed over the keys of houses constructed under PM Awas Yojana and the PM also inaugurated the waste to energy plant. Where he was joined by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde, senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis and the new deputy CM of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar. PM Modi also greets Ajit Pawar and gives him a pit on the back. 

 

In his speech PM said, “Pune is witnessing the development and a prominent IT hub Bengaluru, where a fast-paced development is a motive but the state government was allying National level political parties to put a hurdle in the progress. Development was impossible in the sphere of dishonesty and mistrust.”  

 

About Lokmanya Tilak he said, “Mahatma Gandhi called him the father of Modern India and Tilak ji has a quality to identify the young talent. Veer Damodar Savarkar was one such example.”
