“Ek Akela Kitno Pe Bhaari” : PM Narendra Modi tears into Congress in Rajya Sabha

PM Modi Speech in Rajya Sabha

Accusing the grand old Congress Party of tokenism and vote bank politics, PM Narendra Modi ripped apart the opposition in the Upper House (Rajya Sabha) of Parliament.

PM Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on Congress Thursday in the Upper House of the parliament. Replying to the motion of thanks on President’s Address, PM Modi teared into Congress and stated “The more you throw Mud, the more Lotus will Blossom everywhere” (English Translation of his Hindi quote). The opposition which created an uproar in the Parliament regarding the Adani-Hindenburg Research demanding a JPC probe on the matter was retailed by PM Modi who told Rajya Sabha: “Desh dekh raha hai, ek akela kitno ko bhari padh raha hai (the country is watching how one person outweighs so many).”

Thumping his chest and pointing to the Opposition benches who were raising slogans, PM Modi said “Naare bolne ke liye bhi unko badal karna padhta hai (even to raise slogans, they have to take turns)… I live for the country and have set out with the conviction to serve the nation.” Modi also accused the Opposition parties of playing games because they did not have the courage to take him on who was alone.

Cautioning the opposition parties of returning to the old pension schemes, the Hon’ble PM warned them of states going for a fiscal indiscipline, reminding them how some countries were going through severe financial distress. He further stated that his government has set the target to achieve saturation levels in all schemes to benefit everyone during the Amrit Kaal. Modi also told the floor of the house that the government’s aim is to provide permanent solutions for the problems faced by the Indian citizens and to empower them.

PM also took potshots at the Nehru-Gandhi family over several central schemes and places named after their family members and went on to ask”why people from their generation don’t keep Nehru as their surname”.

“Some had problems with the names of schemes of govt and Sanskrit words in the names. I read in a report that 600 government schemes were in the Gandhi-Nehru family’s name…I don’t understand why people from their generation don’t keep Nehru as their surname, what’s the fear and shame?” he said.

In a blistering attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also blamed the UPA government for dismissing the elected governments of several states.
