According to statistical data and claims of the opposition parties, Modi 3.0 sees dwindling numbers in terms of minority representation. For the first time in Indian history, the new council has no Muslim representation, and the remaining minority representation stands at only 5%. Among the whopping 72 members, only 5 are minority faces, namely, Kiren Rijiju and Hardeep Puri who are Cabinet Ministers, and Ravneet Singh, George Kurien, and Ramdas Athwale as the Ministers of State.

Opposition parties have claimed that this move will have an adverse impact on the concerns of the minorities and calls for serious introspection within the formation of the new Council of Ministers. Following his oath, PM Modi assumed office for the third time, and has signed the first file of this term dedicated to farmers’ welfare and upliftment.
