For beginners, NFTs are a kind of digital asset that uses blockchain to record the ownership of digital items such as images, videos, and other historic and precious collectibles.
From soccer superstar Lionel Messi to the Bhaijaan of Bollywood Salman Khan, everyone is floating their NFTs. In this article, let’s look at five celebrities that have introduced their Non-Fungible Tokens.
1. Lionel Messi
The Argentine soccer superstar Lionel Messi who is also referred to as one of the finest football players in the world has also introduced his NFTs. Messi launched his exclusive NFT collection in August last year. He named it ‘Metaverse’. The collection features three digital art pieces- “Man from the Future”, “Worth the Weight” and “The King Piece”. All three pieces are created by artist BossLogic depicting iconic and glorifying moments from the footballer’s career. On the very first day of the launch, his star fame was on display as the NFTs’ sales spiked to the US $3.4 million.
2. Justin Bieber
The Baby song fame and the exceptionally talented Singer Justin Bieber also launched his collection of NFTs. Biebs has shown his love for the variety of colorful bear illustrations. If you are also following the star on popular social media platform Instagram, then you might have seen his exclusive collection of NFTs.
3. Snoop Dogg
The famous American Rapper who has also lent his voice in a song in the Bollywood movie ‘ Singh is King’ has also stepped into the world of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). The rapper and the singer introduced his collection called “A Journey with the Dogg.” His collection is likely to include a journey down the experiences and greatest memories that include thinking quotes and moments that are captured in clicks. His exclusive collection also features an original track titled “NFT”, and a Dogecoin-inspired cryptocurrency that is named “Snoop Dogge Coins”.
4. Salman Khan
If the global celebrities are in adopting NFTs, then how can Celebrities in India stay away from this buzzing trend. The Bhaijaan of Bollywood, Salman Khan on October 13, lat year joined hands with BollyCoin, a Bollywood NFT marketplace, for his NFT collections. As per Bollycoin, 1 million BOLLY tokens were sold in the initial first few hours of the launch. During the same month, he launched GARI that is India’s first-ever crypto token started by micro-content, short video application Chingari.
5. Amitabh Bachchan
When it comes to the NFTs, the Shahenshah of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan is also not behind. The 79-year old actor was probably the first star from Bollywood to switch to the NFT bandwagon. In November last year, he sold his exclusive NFT collection for almost about ₹7.18 crore. The collection included seven autographed posters from his iconic movies and half a dozen collectibles of “punks and NFTs art and Poster collection. The collection also featured a series called ‘Madhushala NFT’ which is a collection of his father’s poems recited by him in his voice. According to the bidding website Beyondlifeclub that organized the auction, Bachchan’s Madhushala poem recital was sold for $7,56,000 and physical posters of Sholay and other movies that were personally autographed by him were sold for $94,052.
