Covid-19: In the last 24 hours, India has recorded 2,35,532 new cases, with 871 deaths


Update on Covid-19: In India, active cases make up only 4.91 percent of total infections, yet more than 3 lakh people have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours.

The Union health ministry bulletin indicated on Saturday morning that India continued its downward trend on the Covid-19 graph, with 2,35,532 new cases of the coronavirus disease being recorded in the last 24 hours, while mortality increased by 871. The total number of cases has increased to 40,858,241.

The country’s daily infection positive rate has reduced from 15.8% to 13.39 percent today. The active caseload in India is currently at 20,04,333, with cases reducing by 1,01,278 in a single day. Active infections now make up about 4.91 percent of all infections. In the previous 24 hours, 3,35,939 people have recovered from the viral sickness, bringing the total number of persons who have recovered to almost 38 million. The recovery rate increased to 98.89%. According to ministry figures, 1.6 billion vaccine doses have been administered so far as part of the statewide Covid-19 vaccination campaign. In the last 24 hours, 56,72,766 doses were administered, including 6,74,623 booster shots for the eligible population and 5,84,492 first doses in the 15-18 age group.

On December 19, 2020, India’s Covid-19 cases surpassed the one-billion-dollar threshold. It surpassed the dreadful two-crore mark on May 4 last year and then crossed the three-crore mark on June 23.
