Covid Update: 10,219 total new cases in Maharashtra.

Covid Update Maharashtra: On Monday, Maharashtra recorded 10,219 Covid-19 infections, bringing the total number of current cases to 174,320. This represents a 73 percent decrease from a month ago when the state had 654,788 active cases.

This drop is thought to have been caused by factors such as the ramping up of tests, faster diagnosis, and the availability of medicines.

Pune has the most Covid-19 users (19,645), down from 120,512 on May 7. Kolhapur is next (18,520). On May 7, there were 14,491 active cases in Kolhapur.

Mumbai has 17,791 cases, down from 54,162 a month ago on Monday.

The decrease in active instances can be ascribed to a reduction in daily Covid-19 instances, according to Dr. Subhash Salunke, the state’s Covid-19 management advisor. ÂThe lockdown as well as other factors such as ramping up of tests and regular supply of medicines ensured reduction of cases. In areas like Kolhapur, the virus came late, and hence, active cases there will come down in the next 15 days, said Salunke.

It shows that Covid has peaked and is on the decline, according to Dr. Jeevan Jain, a physician who has treated over 15,000 Covid patients.ÂWe will see a fewer number of active cases in the coming days. We are also seeing good recovery rates. It indicates the second wave is waning and will soon become history, said Dr. Jain.
