Diwali 2023 Bank Holidays: Check the complete list of holidays here.
Diwali 2023 Bank Holidays: The banks will be completely shut in the coming week, so if you are planning to visit your bank, check the list of holidays. According to the reports and RBI’s guidelines the bank will be closed for six days in a few states due to the constant alignment of upcoming festivals like Dhanteras, Diwali, Bhai-Dooj, and Goverdhan Puja. For this particular festive week, when the second Saturday and Sunday fall, the bank holiday dates are extended. Moreover, in the coming week, banks will be closed for up to six days due to regional celebrations and weekends. Even though bank branches will be closed, online banking services will remain open and functional, allowing you to do transactions, balance checks, and other necessary banking tasks from the comfort of your home or while on the go. Bank customers should be aware that while state-specific holidays are only observed in some states, national holidays will result in bank closures across the country.
The Reserve Bank of India categorizes its holidays into three groups: Holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Holidays under the Act and Real Time Gross Settlement Holidays, and holidays associated with banks closing their accounts. It is important to remember that bank holidays differ from state to state and are not always observed by financial institutions. The announcement of specific events in regional states or the festivals celebrated in those states also have an impact on banking holidays.
