Veteran Journalist Vinod Dua ‘beyond critical’, is in the ICU, informs daughter Mallika Dua

Ace Journalist Vinod Dua is again in the hospital. As per her daughter and famous standup comedian Mallika Dua, Vinod Dua is ‘beyond critical’ and is admitted to ICU.

This is the second time that the 67-year-old ace journalist Vinod Dua is admitted to the hospital. Earlier this year, during the times of Covid, Dua was hospitalized and was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Now again, the veteran journalist is in ICU and his condition is ‘Beyond Stable’ as per his daughter, Mallika Dua. 

Taking to her Instagram handle, Mallika Dua uploaded a story and wrote “My Papaji is beyond critical in the ICU. His health had been deteriorating rapidly since April. He also is unable to come to terms with losing the light of his life. He has lived an extraordinary life and given us the same. He deserves no pain. He is immensely loved and revered and I request you all to pray that he experiences as little pain as possible.”

As per the reports, Vinod Dua is admitted to a hospital in Gurugram, Haryana. His health has been continuously deteriorating since the unfortunate demise of his wife, Padmavati ‘Chinna’ Dua, in June after she succumb to the Covid.

The ace journalist who is also felicitated with Padma Shri by the Government of India (GoI) in the year 2008 is often referred to as a pioneer in broadcast Hindi journalism. He is also a recipient of the prestigious Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Award and was the first electronic media journalist to win it. He also has a long instinct working with Doordarshan and the NDTV. 

Putting a full stop to all the rumors spread across all social media platforms regarding the demise of Vinod Dua, Mallika, on her Instagram wrote, “Request everyone to not spread rumors about my father’s demise. He is in the ICU, fighting still. Whatever be the outcome. Let him have his dignity. Do not believe/spread misinformation, please. I will issue all official news and updates on him. Not Twitter.”
