Sooraj Cherukat, who goes by the name of HanuMankind was born and brought up in Kerela, India, until the 4th grade. Thereafter, he grew up in Texas, United States, only to return to India. His multicultural upbringing is reflected in his art, as he is known for his fusion of desi hip-hop and western musical elements. Furthermore, this explains his southern accent with which the rapper performs. Thus, HanuMankind is a trailblazing artist who has masterfully combined his western influences with Indian roots.

The Kerela-born rapper’s rise in the hip-hop scene was marked with songs like ‘Rush Hour’, ‘Genghis’, and ‘Go To Sleep’. Music Video for Big Dawgs

The music video for the smash hit was as innovative and unique as the song itself. The song was shot with the backdrop of daring stunts and bold riders. It was filmed in Ponnani, a coastal district in Kerala, which is also hailed as the “Mecca of Kerala.” The visually gripping video shows cars and motorbikes spinning around the ‘Well of Death’ or ‘Maut ka Kuan’.

The Well of Death is primarily an Indian circus tradition where cars and motorbikes ride around the vertical sites of a 60-foot wooden cylinder. This element of the music video completely gripped Western viewers as they are not familiar with this Indian stunt. The riders put their lives at risk while delivering a gravity-defying performance. The raw visuals were captured by Abhinay Pandit and the video was directed by Bijoy Shetty. Bijoy Shetty is the visionary behind this gripping video comprising a wild and adventurous ride.
