BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari demands the CBI probe against Mamata Banerjee in Saradha Scam

On April 19th, 2023, Wednesday, West Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari lashed out at the Mamata Banerjee-led TMC government and also demanded the central agencies probe the Chief Minister of Bengal, under the Saradha scam. A fresh notice by the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) to TMC National Secretary, Abhishek Banerjee in which the agency’s action has been called as ‘energetic’ as well as ‘prompt’. He was asked to be presented before the agency by CBI  in connection with the Saradha scam in the state.

“CBI is doing an accomplished and energetic task. In spite of such stubbornness from the government of state, the agency is doing good work. A TMC MLA Jiban Krishna Saha tried to seize his phone from the officers and also tried to demolish the evidence. The CBI’s action is right and this should not stop, or else Bengal CM and her party leaders will destroy the evidence.” said the BJP leader. The central agencies should probe CM Mamta Banerjee in relation with the alleged Saradha case scam, he further urged.

“These Bua-Bhatija (Mamata and Abhishek Banerjee) should be questioned and some action is required to be taken against both of them. CBI has enough evidence to probe against them in this scam but it is not even investigating. If Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal can be questioned over the excise policy case, then why can’t Mamata?” said the BJP leader. Manish Sisodia, former Deputy CM of New Delhi was investigated for more than nine hours by the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) in connection with the Excise policy scam, in which he has been already arrested.

The CM of Bengal, Mamata Banerjee had recently demanded the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah for saying that the TMC government will collapse if the Bharatiya Janata Party wins 35 seats from West Bengal in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. The sources said that Mamta Banerjee called Amit Shah a ‘gunda’. Because of the fear of psychosis, she is giving such dishonourable statements. CM Mamata Banerjee called Amit Shah more than four times in the month of March requesting him to look at the situation depicting the national status of TMC, but Amit Shah clearly mentioned that the ECI is an independent and constitutional body and works as per the laws. Mamata’s TMC has not faced an ‘active opposition’ like BJP under its rule in the state.
