Opposition Intend To Mislead India Over CAA, Rumors Being Spread: BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi

A public meeting was organized at the Sadar Bazar, Kranti Check in the Delhi Cantonment Assembly constituency in support of the Citizenship Amendment Act and National Population Register. BJP MP from New Delhi Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi was present as the chief guest and keynote speaker at this public meeting. BJP councilors, former councilors, district divisional presidents, ex-army officers, ex-servicemen, martyrs’ families and thousands of women and dignitaries from the Cantonment Assembly appeared in support of the bill.

Mrs. Sayali Bhagat, former Miss India, and film actress welcomed Dr. Meenakshi Lekhi with a bouquet of flowers. 

Speaking on the Citizenship Amendment Act, Honorable MP Smt Meenakshi Lekhi said, “This law is not going to harm any Indian citizen. The CAA is for the oppressed and persecuted minorities who have been facing atrocities over religious affiliation for a long time in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh.” Opposition parties are misleading the people. They are distorting the nature of this bill and presenting it to the public. Some anti-social elements have instigated riots and arson public assets in the country. They plot to destroy the integrity of the country they will never succeed in their designs. “

She thanked the visitors who came to the meeting and said, “Opposition parties are going from place to place saying that your citizenship is threatened while CAA is not going to affect any Indian citizen. Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, realizing the anguish of the relatives of the people of India, has got this bill passed by Parliament. Let some elements not create an atmosphere of confusion. Be aware.”

Mrs. Meenakshi Lekhi urged all the people present in the meeting to go from place to place at their level to explain and educate the people about the propaganda and features of this bill of opposition so that this confusion can be cleared. She said, “Rumors are being spread among the people regarding national citizenship registration. Today, no citizen of India will have any problem with CAA. This is to prevent intruders who enter India illegally and are involved in terrorism, theft, and crime.”

The Chairman of Delhi Cantonment Development Committee, Dr. TC Rao said in his address, “The Delhi government has been adopting a policy of discrimination for the last 7 years for the Delhi Cantonment Assembly.”

For this, Dr. TC Rao repeatedly made pressure to get the concession in electricity, water, education, and subsidies being made in the rest of Delhi. He said that the present Kejriwal government is not allowing the public welfare central government scheme to be implemented in Delhi, especially Ayushman Health Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, etc. Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi took a historic decision to get the ownership of the people of 1750 colonies registered.. He further said that Honorable Shri Narendra Modi did the work of creating history by constructing concrete houses in slums. 

Lieutenant General JBS Yadav, former deputy chief and patron of the Martyrs’ Family Welfare Foundation also supported the bill in his address and urged the countrymen not to let the opposition’s propaganda dominate them and make their decision only by considering the subject. 

“The BJP government is dedicated to the welfare of farmers, laborers, and jawans. The 40-year-old demand was fulfilled by giving soldiers one rank one pension.”

On this occasion, Shri Rajesh Goyal, District General Secretary thanked all the incoming ex-military officers, ex-servicemen, families of martyrs and women of the region for supporting the Citizenship Amendment Act. This public meeting was attended by Air Vice Marshal Ajit Singh, Major General Ravinder Singh, Major General Ranjit Singh, Major General Ahlawat, Colonel Mahavir Yadav, Brigadier OP Yadav, Wing Commander Shish Ram Yadav, Colonel Gopal Singh, Colonel Santpal Raghav, Colonel Kanwar Pal Singh Rana, Mr. Brijesh Tanwar, Mr. Ravindra Sahni, Mr. Ashok Tanwar Former Vice President, Mr. Ram Singh, Mr. Kailash Arya, Expander, Mr. Ravindra Tanwar, Divisional President, Mr. Jag Lohia, Councilor, Mrs. Priyanka Chowdhury, Councilor, Colonel Narendra Chowdhury, Colonel Roshan Lal Yadav and family more than 35 martyrs and was attended by more than 3,000 from Delhi Cantonment assembly area.
