As the India Canada relations continue to sour because of the ongoing bilateral tussle, the assassination of another Khalistani terrorist is implemented. On the late night of Wednesday, Sukhdool Singh was shot dead in the city of Winnipeg in Canada. The Khalistani terrorist had links with the Bambiha Gang and was killed in a similar way as Nijjar. Sukhdool Singh Gill, with the alias Sukha Duneke, fled to Canada in 2017 when he was accused of Murder and Extortion. Duneka has previously been involved in various crimes in India like the shooting of Sandeep Naggal Ambian in March 2022, who was shot dead during a kabaddi match in Punjab’s Malian village.

According to an investigation, “Two police officers who submitted Duneke’s police verification report and criminal history in 2017 when he applied for a passport were reportedly irresponsible in their duties and failed to disclose all the charges that had been filed against him. Although he was at the time charged in seven criminal instances, the police only mentioned five of them while omitting the two where he was given a proclaimed offender status. In a letter to the Moga police dated June 11, 2022,” the Anti-Gangster Task Force stated, According to reliable information, “Sukhdoor Singh Gill was able to obtain an Indian passport as a result of the police officials’ negligence in failing to disclose Sukhdoor Singh Gill’s criminal history in the police verification report for issuing the passport. It is necessary to file a criminal complaint against Gill and the police officers.”

The Police also claimed that Duneka had connections with the Bambiha gang, who were rivals with the Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar gang. The imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has claimed the killing of the pro-Khalistani. The continuous inter-gang wars and killings of pro-Khalistanis have led to the weakening of India-Canada relationships and have also caused trouble for the Indian citizens living there.
