The talented and most gorgeous actress, Alia Bhatt celebrates her 29th birthday today. Bhatt is the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Sonia Razdan. She made her acting debut in the 1999 thriller Sangharsh when she was a child and her first leading role was in 2012 Karan Johar’s movie Student of the Year. She is considered as one of the most versatile Bollywood actors. From intense characters to fun-loving characters Alia has aced all her roles and has won many awards as well. We have curated a list of Alia Bhatt’s movies that no one should miss. 

1. Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022)

Starting our list with the recent Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, Gangubai Kathiawadi. The film is based on the book Mafia Queens by Hussain Zaidi. Alia Bhatt who is in the lead role plays the character of one of the most influential and powerful brothel owners in 1960s Mumbai. The film has received a lot of love from the fans and the critics as well. Alia’s screen presence has won many hearts. The film has already entered the 100 crore club. 

2. Dear Zindagi (2016)

The film was one of Alia’s finest films, it showcased the struggles that a young woman Kiara faced due to her career, emotions and trauma. Eventually, she tries to fight her demons and try to see life from a new perspective with the help of her therapist Dr. Jehangir (played by Shah Rukh Khan). Dear Zindagi tells people that it is okay to have an imperfect life but you should never give up instead you should face the challenges because life is full of surprises. 

3. Highway (2014) 

Bhatt’s performance in Imtiaz Ali’s Highway gave goosebumps to everyone. The film was a major turning point in Alia’s career. The film revolves around the story of a girl Veera who suffers from Stockholm Syndrome after she was kidnapped by  Mahabir Bhati (Randeep Hooda) on the eve of her wedding. Alia gave a jaw-dropping performance in the film’s climax where she revealed the trauma she face in childhood.  Alia also won her first Filmfare award for Best Actor (Female) in critic’s choice.  

4. Raazi (2018) 

Meghna Gulzar’s thriller film Raazi was inspired by Harinder Singh Sikka’s novel, Calling Sehmat. The film shows the story of a lady Sehmat whose life takes a 360 degree turn when she had to become an Indian spy in the home of her Pakistani husband. She was caught between her loyalty towards her country and her love for her husband. 

5. Udta Punjab (2014)

Udta Punjab showed the high drug addiction and abuse in the state of Punjab. Alia Bhatt had a small yet impactful role. The actress played the role of a Bihari hockey player turned farm laborer who got caught in the world of smuggling drugs. Her role was wholeheartedly loved by her fans and it also received appreciation from the critics.
