Climate Activist, Disha Ravi, arrested for allegedly providing ‘toolkit’ to Greta Thunberg

22- year-old, Climate activist, Disha Ravi from Bengaluru was arrested by Cyber Cell team of Delhi Police as she is alleged in the case of providing the ‘toolkit’ to Greta Thunberg. The ‘toolkit’ is an important part of the farmer’s protests against the three farm laws. 

Disha Ravi was picked from her house on Sunday, February 14, 2021 for questioning in the matter and was later arrested for the case. This comes out to be the first arrest in relation to the ‘toolkit case’. Climate Activists use the term ‘toolkit’ very often for their campaign information document. 

According to Delhi Police, “Ravi is the editor of the ‘toolkit google doc’ and ‘key conspirator’ in the formulation and dissemination of the document”. It also came out that Ravi is apparently “collaborated with pro-Khalistan Poetic Justice Foundation to spread disaffection against the Indian State”

After the arrest, Delhi Police also tweeted that Ravi was the one who shared the toolkit document with Greta Thunberg who further shared the toolkit with the farmers to lend her hand in support against the chaos for the three farm reform laws.

A bachelor in Business Administration from Bengaluru, Disha Ravi is the co-founder of the group, “Fridays for Future India”, working to improve the climatic conditions in the country. She is an avid writer of columns and articles in prominent news agencies. Her forte is climate action and is a major name in a lot of climate forums across the globe.

Disha Ravi became a suspect under Delhi Police Crime Branch after Greta Thunberg took to twitter and posted a toolkit document which according to the police led to the agitation on January 26, 2021 in New Delhi. The FIR didn’t name Greta Thunberg but the case is registered against all the authors of the toolkit.
