Happy Birthday Deepika Padukone: Let us walk through her top five films on her special day

It is our very own Shanti Priya’s birthday, Happy Birthday to queen Deepika Padukone. Ever since her debut film Om Shanti Om came she has quite effortlessly and very elegantly made everyone bow down to her magnetic persona and amazing skills. Her popularity has no bounds, from Hollywood to Bollywood, she has always been the talk of the town. Even though Deepika has always charmed audiences with her beauty she still had her fair share of struggles as well. From being made fun of for speaking about her mental issues to her bad breakup becoming a gossip topic, life was not always easy for her. However, just as phoenix always rises from the ashes to mark its victory, Deepika Padukone also always came back stronger than the 90s trend. With a career of over 15 years, the diva has given Bollywood a few of its blockbuster hits.

So as she turns a year older, let us have a look at five of the best movies through which she proved herself.

1. Bajirao Mastani (2015)

This periodical romance tale introduced everyone to the story of Maratha warrior Bajirao whose role was played by Ranveer Singh and his second wife Masatni whose role was played by Deepika Padukone. Be it the storyline, costumes, songs, dialogues or sets, everything was praised by the audience. The film also starred Priyanka Chopra, however, you should only watch it if you want to sob like a baby.

2. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013)

The movie not only was a blockbuster hit but also made everyone want to pack their bags and go to Manali on an impromptu trip. In the story, Naina (Deepika Padukone) reconnects with her childhood classmate Kabir (Ranbir Kapoor) on a trip and over the course of time they not only make good memories but also fall in love, oh my god so dreamy. Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani has also received applause for its fun and lighthearted tone.

3. Om Shanti Om (2007)

Debuts hold a special place in everyone’s mind and so was the case with birthday girl Deepika. She starred opposite King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and their pairing did help the film in conquering the box office. Deepika was seen in a dual role which made the audience flattered. Firstly she played the role of Shanti Priya and the other was the role of a struggling actress Sandy and we can say that she aced each of them.

4. Padmaavat (2018)

The grand Sanjay Leela Bhansali production was a success and it astonished everyone because of the drama that went in the backhand. Even after cuts by critics and disagreement by a particular creed, there was nothing that could stop it. The storyline revolves around the life of Rani Padmavati (Deepika Padukone) who is known for her beauty and intelligence. The film received praise from all around for the mindblowing visuals and strong performance by the cast which included Shahid Kappor and the love of Deepika and our lives, Ranveer Singh.

5. Piku (2015)

Shoojit Sircar’s Piku showed a heartwarming relationship of father-daughter. The father’s role was played by none other than the Angry Young Man of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan and the daughter’s role was obviously played by our Deepika. It showed a story of a young woman who is struggling to take care of her ageing father. The film received immense love for the honest portrayal of the dynamics of a family. Also, Deepika’s basic outfit which was kurta-palazzo pants paired with a bind wowed everyone. The film also starred versatile actor Irfan Khan.

Well here is our list of Deepika’s top five films. Trust us choosing them was difficult because each of her films is special in its own way. Now, she is once again ready to steal hearts with the film Pathaan opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Be it red carpet or a song or a film, she always slays and just like you we also cannot wait to see more of her (screams in excitement). We once again wish Happy Birthday to Mrs Deepika Padukone.
