Indian author and Swiss-educated scholar Preethi Amaresh makes India proud

Indian author and reputed young Switzerland scholar from Geneva School of Diplomacy, Preethi Amaresh has been invited to be a part of the prestigious German conference on Artificial Intelligence (AI) hosted by Academy of International Affairs (AIA), North Rhine Westphalia (NRW), that is holding a summer academy. The conference will begin from 23 to 26 August 2021 where 39 selected bright young scientists and diplomats from 23 nations will meet renowned experts in the Summer Academy “Artificial Intelligence and International Politics” at Petersberg near Bonn.

At this first event of the Academy, the role of AI in international relations will be examined. The Prime Minister of NRW, Armin Laschet will officially open the new academic institution on 25 August 2021 in Bonn. The city of Bonn is the headquarters for many key actors in academia, media, the United Nations and civil society where AIA aims to be a partner and host for these actors. Some of the issues such as the civil and military development of AI and the global race between states for dominance in these new key technologies will also be discussed in the conference. The Executive Director of the Academy of International Affairs NRW, Dr. Mayssoun Zein Al Din stated that, at ÂThe Summer Academy, we are dedicating ourselves right at the beginning to a globally pressing topic from different disciplinary and cultural perspectives,” The Academy also invites the brightest minds from research, politics, and civil society to discuss new paths forward and envision solutions for the future.

Preethi Amaresh told the Indian media that though she wonÂt be present in Bonn due to other personal commitments and would miss the festive dinner for the ceremonial opening of the Academy with Armin Laschet, the 2021 election frontrunner for the German Chancellor post, President of the Republic of Ghana, Mr. Nana Akufo-Addo, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxemburg, Jean Asselborn and other outstanding personalities and participants, she is excited to be part of the virtual conference and will ensure to be present in Bonn for the follow up event in 2022. She also thanked the ÂDiplomatist magazine team for the great support and reference.

Amaresh is a multitalented and young blooming author who has already won praises by many Indian and International elite experts and intellectuals for authoring books such as ÂNihonomics (The Economic Foreign Policy of Japan) and ÂNanmin (Concavity of ChinaÂs Refugee Policy) besides bringing out innumerous articles on International relations. She is also involved in AI research since last 4 years and has brought out article publications and book chapters on the impact of AI on JapanÂs Economic foreign policy, Asian healthcare, foreign policy & diplomacy, governance and is currently working on terrorism & cyber warfare. Talking about IndiaÂs performance in AI, she believes that India is still on the verge of catching up with AI and the ÂNational Strategy for AI by NITI Aayog is certainly a great step forward in advancing AI and will prove to be a game changer for IndiaÂs ambitions to become a $5 trillion economy that will further help IndiaÂs aspirations to be an AI superpower in the near future.
