Aditti Pulastya, a talented and versatile actor in both theater and screen space, who has gradually been working her way into the Indian entertainment industry. Her varied skills as an actress, dancer, and Gymnastics enthusiast, besides an absolute dedication towards her art, have catapulted her into the limelight. Very recently, Aditti has spellbound everyone with her scintillating performance at LokManthan 2024. An event that will celebrate the heart of Bharatiya culture and heritage, “Punyashlok Lokmata” has etched an indelible mark on the audience and Aditti has received accolades from some of the most prominent persons in the nation, including Dr. Mohan Bhagwat.
LokManthan is highly considered as the biggest cultural festival in Bharat. It acts as a great amalgamation of ideas, art, and heritage. It brings together thinkers, artists, and leaders to deliberate on and celebrate the values that make Bharatiya society. This year’s theme, Lok Vichaar, Lok Vyavahar, and Lok Vyavastha, really resonated well with the audience, indeed pointing at the play between traditional wisdom and modern practices. The event was graced by luminaries like Honorable President Draupadi Murmu, Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, M. Venkaiah Naidu, and Union Ministers like Nirmala Sitharaman and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
Aditti has performed remarkably as Shloka, the main protagonist in the play where a modern woman’s journey of self-discovery and transformation is reflected through the ideals of Ahilyabai. The play brought forth historical reverence seamlessly into contemporary relevance, focusing on themes such as resilience, upliftment of society, and women’s empowerment. For Aditti, it became much more than a performance-it was a personal exploration. “While preparing for Shloka, I delved into the life of Ahilyabai Holkar to understand her values and vision. This helped me connect to Shloka’s character on a profound level,” she shared.
The audience’s response was nothing short of overwhelming. From laughter at Shloka’s moments of folly to cheers during her transformation, Aditti’s nuanced performance struck a chord with viewers of all ages. “It was a humbling experience to see the audience engage so deeply with the character,” she said. “Their reactions made every moment on stage truly magical.”
The icing on the cake was when the chief guest, Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, personally felicitated for a superb performance and presentation. “I mean, to know someone of his stature specifically came to watch our play and then getting honored by him was surreal,” Aditti said. “It’s a moment that I will treasure forever.”
Preparing for Shloka was intense and introspective, required much hard work, and numerous meditations have been put into the preparation of the complexities of the character to balance her modern senses with the timeless values of Ahilyabai. Rehearsals were arduous yet enriching especially under the guidance of senior actors and directors, and it had enriched the creative process in itself. “Each rehearsal unveiled a new layer of Shloka’s personality. It was both challenging and rewarding to embody her journey,” Aditti said.
The collaborative effort for “Punyashlok Lokmata” was also equally applaudable. Sanskar Bharti under the visionary leadership of Ravindra Bharati and Arun Shekhar played a pivotal role in bringing the production to life. Commitment toward displaying the legacy of Ahilyabai Holkar made the play succeed on an emotional connection with the audience.
Aditti’s participation in LokManthan 2024 has been a significant turning point in her career. Her confidence in the power of narrative has been reinforced by the accolades she earned from the public, movie stars, and dignitaries. “A live performance provides an unmatched audience connection. Their swift responses reflect the power of our art,” she said.
Looking forward, Aditti intends to carry on projects celebrating the rich cultural heritage of India. “Art has the unique ability to connect people across boundaries. I want to be part of stories that not only entertain but also inspire and educate,” she said. Plans are already underway for more performances of “Punyashlok Lokmata”, and Aditti looks forward to the journey ahead.
