Reliance Jio is ready to introduce a brand new wifi net carrier for houses and workplaces, referred to as Jio AirFiber. During the 2023 AGM held today, Mukesh Ambani, chairman and handling director of Reliance Industries announced that Jio AirFiber could be released in India on Tuesday, September 19th, 2023, coinciding with the completion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Jio AirFiber carrier was introduced on the company’s forty fifth AGM remaining year. Talking about the carrier, Jio emphasised that with AirFiber customers will benefit from the right of entry to wifi net at speeds similar to fiber-optic connections. This will permit them to apply a variety of packages with low latency and excessive bandwidth, along with streaming video, gaming, and video conferencing. What is Jio AirFiber? 

Jio AirFiber is Jio’s new wireless internet service  that uses 5G technology to provide high-speed internet connectivity. According to Jio,  AiFiber offers speeds comparable to  traditional optical fibres and users can also access speeds  up to 1 Gbps.

Connecting your home or office with gigabit speed is very easy with JioAirFiber. 

Jio showcased the device in an advertisement last year and it showed 5G speeds of up to 1.5 Gbps. According to some unknown sources, Jio AirFiber uses true 5G to provide fast, reliable and wide Wi-Fi coverage. The service can cover up to 1,000 square feet of a house or office on the same floor thanks to its unique spectrum property. 

Apart from high-speed internet,  Jio AirFiber also offers other services to ensure a secure internet experience, including: 

• Jio AirFiber offers parental control tools that allows users to control and restrict the content available online. It  also supports Wi-Fi 6 technology, which ensures better and efficient connectivity between devices.  
•  The Jio AiFiber service integrates with the Jio set-top box, allowing users to combine  high-speed internet  with watching TV over the same network. 
•  With Jio AirFiber, users can manage their network by blocking certain websites or devices for a more secure and personalised internet experience.  

Jio AirFiber Monthly Plan Price 

Jio’s AirFiber service is expected to be 20 percent cheaper than other devices in the market. According to some reports, the device could cost around INR 6,000. 

How is  Jio AirFiber different from Jio Fiber? 

Jio AirFiber and Jio Fiber are standalone broadband services from Reliance Jio that differ in terms of technology, speed, coverage, installation and cost. For example, Jio Fiber uses fiber optic cables for wider coverage, but these are not available everywhere in the country. On the other hand, the upcoming Jio AirFiber is a wireless broadband network that uses point-to-point radio links to connect homes and workplaces to Jio through a direct signal. It is not limited by fiber cables, it depends on visibility in Jio towers.
