Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan loses in the election as a key partner shifts allegiance with the opposition party.

On Wednesday, Imran Khan’s party Tehreek-e-Insaf failed to make the government as they received a massive backlash. The main union partner-Muttahida Quami Movement, known as MQM Pakistan,  signed a deal with the opposition party (PPP). According to the reports, the PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari tweeted “Congratulations Pakistan. The United Opposition and MQM have reached an Agreement as Rabta committee MQM & PPP CEC will approve the agreement. We will then share details with the media in a press conference tomorrow.”

Muttahida Quami Movement announced its coalition with Pakistan People’s Party with its seven members. They declared this news during the joint press conference of opposition parties. The former Pakistan cricketer, Imran Khan was looking forward to addressing the nation in the late afternoon after the weeks of political turmoil approached the fore together with assertions of foreign interference.

In the history of Pakistan, no Prime Minister has seen out a full term, and Imran Khan is facing enormous challenges to his rule since he was elected in 2018, with rivals accusing him of economic perversions and foreign policy blunders. The joint opposition in Pakistan has now 177 members of parliament, following the decision of the ruling partners MQM-P’s decision to break the ties with the Imran Khan-led government.

Primarily, arrangements to build disbelief against the Prime Minister’s success, Pakistan’s joint opposite party needs the hold up of 172 Members of Assembly. The total strength of the Pakistan Parliament is 342 members, with the majority being 172 members. The PTI-led alliance was established with the support of  179 members, however, in the current scenario after MQM-P left the party, PTI is standing with 164 members in support and the opposite party has currently 177 members of supporters in the general assembly. 

In the meantime, Imran Khan claimed that some people are trying to tumble his administration with the assistance of foreign funds.
