Home Minister Amit Shah greeted the cops on Delhi Police Foundation Day

New Delhi: Today, on the occasion of 74th Delhi Police Foundation Day, honorable Home Minister Amit Shah extended his greetings to the Delhi Police personnel and their families. He praised the forces stating that it ensures capital security even under adverse circumstances.

Amit Shah has served as Home Minister of the country since 2019 and is in charge of the Delhi Police Force.

Mr. Shah took to his official Twitter handle to convey his greetings to the cops. He chose to tweet in Hindi today and wrote, “Heartfelt greetings to all personnel and their families on the 74th foundation day of Delhi Police. I salute the courage, restraint, and determination of the brave personnel of the Delhi Police who are fully dedicated to ensuring the security and peace of the country’s capital even under adverse circumstances.”

The foundation day is celebrated to mark the appointment of the first Chief of Delhi Police Mr. DW Mehra in 1948. Post-independence the forces had just about 8000 personnel but today the force owns the power of more than 80,000 personnel with 11 districts and almost 180 police stations in the capital.

Delhi Police has always been a matter of talks both among the citizens and the government. They are either praised because of their extraordinary work or criticized for controversies. But they have always been at the forefront of maintaining the law and order in the capital. Even during the global pandemic, when the world was locked inside they stood firmly on roads irrespectively of time. They assured that everyone follows the pandemic rules to minimize the spread. They too came up with innovative ideas to create awareness about the same.
