On December 3, the BJP defeated the Congress in the Rajasthan state assembly elections. Still, after just two days, the state witnessed shocking news, and tension arose. The national president of the Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, was shot and killed on Tuesday, December 5, in Jaipur by criminals riding bicycles. This has caused agitation in the state, and as per reports, the Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena has issued a request stating that neither Gogamedi’s body nor the swearing-in ceremony of the new government will be allowed to take place until the killers of Sukhdev are apprehended.
Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the president of the Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, was shot dead in Jaipur on Tuesday. Four miscreants reportedly burst into his home and started shooting at him.
After the incident, he was admitted to Metro Mass Hospital but was not going to make it. Shyam Nagar is the area where the incident took place. When the local police learned of the incident, they hurried to the scene. A senior police official told the media that the CCTV captured the entire incident, and the footage is being reviewed.
According to reports, the incident happened at 1:30 pm. It has been reported that one of the killers was shot and killed by one of Mr Gogamedi’s guards. Outside the Rajput leader’s house, the other gunmen were able to flee on a bike that they had stolen at gunpoint.
Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, a BJP leader and union minister, expressed his shock at the incident. He said, “I have spoken to the police commissioner and asked him to arrest the accused as soon as possible,” adding that the BJP government, which is about to take office, is one of its top priorities to free the state of crime. In the most recent Assembly elections, the ruling Congress was defeated by the BJP.
One of the Goldy Brar gang members has taken credit for the murder. In a Facebook post, Rohit Godara Kapurisr claimed that Mr Gogamedi was aiding their adversaries, which was the reason behind the attack.
