The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ will now be resumed by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi from Uttar Pradesh after a nine-day break. Until now, this Yatra has successfully covered over 3,000 km in 110 days. It commenced in Kanyakumari on September 07 and has covered parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Haryana. The Congress has claimed that the Bharat Jodo Yatra is the longest march on foot in the history of India. After the end of this Yatra in Srinagar on January 26, the party is planning on launching a brand new campaign, ‘Haath Se Haath Jodo’. According to some resources, Sonia Gandhi, the former Congress president, has entrusted AICC national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra with the responsibility of leading the ‘Haath Se Haath Jodo’ campaign all across the country. The campaign will have a special focus on women of the nation.

While talking about the campaigns, KC Venugopal, the General Secretary of Congress says, “After the Bharat Jodo Yatra, the Congress will be launching a two-month ‘Hath Se Hath Jodo Campaign’. As part of this second initiative, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will lead multiple foot marches and rallies with women members in every state capital to spread the message of the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’.” A few of the sources have also brought to light the information that a wave of marches with women cadres would be led by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in March. The focus will be on issues like inflation and its impact on the public, especially the middle class and other problems faced by women will also be highlighted and talked about.
