Mahagathbandhan for 2024? KCR to meet Uddhav, Mamata dials Stalin

Telangana Chief Minister KCR on Sunday announced that he will be flying down to Mumbai to meet Uddhav Thackeray,  the CM of Maharashtra. He further added that he will also be meeting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu CM on Sunday also tweeted that Mamata called him to discuss matters regarding misuse of powers by Governors of the BJP-ruled state.

It seems like opposition parties are uniting together to portray a formidable alliance ahead of the crucial 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. K Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on Sunday announced that he will be flying down to the financial capital to meet the Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. KCR also further added that the Chief Minister of West Bengal will meet him in Hyderabad. KCR, however, did not reveal when the meeting was going to take place. The 67-year-old politician also attacked the Modi-led central government. He said that the Modi government should be dumped for its anti-people policy and that he will play a crucial role in uniting opposition parties.

KCR stated that “Mamata Behen (Mamata Banerjee) called me. We had a discussion over phone. She invited me to Bengal or she’ll come to Hyderabad. She said Mujhe Dosa kilao. I said most welcome. She may come any time. We are discussing. There are so many political leaders across the nation.” He further added that “Mr Uddhav Thackeray is also waiting. They are waiting for me. I have to go to Mumbai. Once this Sri Ramanujacharya function is over I think I may go to Mumbai any time.”

Meanwhile, M Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, on Sunday, in a series of tweets stated that Mamata Banerjee dialed him and discussed the issue regarding the brazen misuse of powers by the Governors of the BJP-ruled state. He tweeted “Beloved Didi @MamataOfficial telephoned me to share her concern and anguish on the Constitutional overstepping and brazen misuse of power by the Governors of non-BJP ruled states. She suggested for a meeting of Opposition CMs.” He further tweeted “I assured her of DMK’s commitment to uphold State autonomy. Convention of Opposition CMs will soon happen out of Delhi!”

These moves have again given fire to the speculation of a grand opposition alliance (Mahagathbandhan) to fight the Modi-led BJP government ahead of the 2024 General Elections.
