Top 10 Offbeat Locations in India You Must Visit
India is full of hidden gems waiting to be explored. While places like Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur often steal the…
Philosopher Matshona Dhliwayo had once said- “When people try to pull you down, remember, they have to look up to do so.” Following a similar path, a social worker from southern India’s Andhra Pradesh has beaten all the odds to serve the people. Dr. Praveen Chakravarthy, who has made a name for himself working tirelessly for the welfare of marginalised communities and sections of the society. For more than a decade, Chakravarthy has spent his life serving millions. However, this journey has been interrupted by rock-solid challenges, which he overcame and still continues the welfare work undeterred by the challenges.
Praveen in a telephonic interview revealed that once a clip from his interview with a foreign journalist had gone viral on the Internet where he could be seen making some statements about a particular religion. However, upon discovery it was found that the video had been trimmed abruptly in order to malign his image and present him in a negative light. Praveen said he was helping millions and this didn’t sit right with a lot of people who had money and muscle power. In order to bring him down, they used all machinery to defame him but when the truth was revealed they were nowhere to be seen.
Praveen said Justice can be delayed but not denied. After he was proved innocent, it was difficult to gain self-confidence and work for what he has dedicated his life to, the marginalised communities. He believes that no matter how strong the lies are but at the end of the day, truth sees the light. Therefore, once he was confident that nothing could stop him he once again started his journey, started connecting with communities and through his NGO SYLOM and other local organisations he built a network to help those in need. Praveen, since 2012, has actively worked in areas like education, child rehabilitation, women empowerment and fighting water scarcity and malnutrition.
Praveen says that once you start doing good in your life then even your close ones will try to bring you down. In this selfish world, no one wants to see anyone successful and are more concerned about others’ success rather than working upon their own failures, he said. However, one should actively ignore such miscreants and always focus on the ultimate goal, which is serving humanity. Once you know that you are on the right side then nothing in the world can stop you from moving towards your purpose in life. He says one should be determined enough to make sure that they do not deviate from the ultimate virtue that is helping those in need just by facing these small obstacles. With a holistic, spiritual and balanced approach one can deal with all sorts of negativity.
