We are
living in a time where entertainment has become a part and parcel of everyoneÂs
life. One cannot imagine life without films, music and web shows. Especially in
the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, the audience is majorly craving some good
content. Producer Abhishek Rao is currently working on some good projects that
he is keen to produce. Hailing from Mangalore in South India, Abhishek is based
in Bangkok for more than 17 years. His primary profession is importing
supercars, and his passion remains in the world of lights, camera and action.
The
producer is closely associated with the film industry and has appeared in
various films in cameo roles. Abhishek Rao had a cameo in the film ÂKung Fu
Yoga starring Jackie Chan, Sonu Sood and Disha Patani. Moreover, he was also
seen doing a cameo appearance in Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan starrer
ÂSimmbaÂ. As an executive producer, Rao had his name in the credits for the
film ÂTutak Tutak TutiyaÂ. Looking at the industry closely, Abhishek Rao is now
keen to make his foray into production.
Expressing
his interest in the OTT space, Rao has revealed that he wants to produce
feature films and web shows. With the ever-growing demand for online streaming
platforms, the producer wants to work on projects that any layman can resonate
with. Speaking about it, he said, ÂProduction has always been on cards for me.
Having said that, I am more inclined towards non-fiction. I am going through a
few projects right now. If any concrete script comes my way, I would love to produce
it.Â
Besides production, Abhishek Rao holds tremendous knowledge about film distribution as well. He was responsible for the Pan India distribution of the film ÂKung Fu YogaÂ. ÂIt is important to have thorough knowledge about films and filmmaking before one can think of getting into the industryÂ, Abhishek went on to say. For his future projects, Abhishek Rao is gearing up to make his debut in the digital space, and it would be interesting to see if he dons a producerÂs hat for a web series.
