Delhi rains are accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning

Delhi Rains: On Monday, Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) awoke to a delightful morning as rain and thunderstorms fell across the region, lowering the temperature by several degrees. For the next two hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts moderate to heavy rains in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR).

IMD tweeted, “Thunderstorm with moderate to heavy intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of entire Delhi and NCR (Bahadurgarh, Gurugram, Manesar, Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, Loni Dehat, Hindon AF Station, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida).Â

People were seen driving their cars as rain lashed Dhaula Kuan, Janpath, Pragati Maidan, and Ferozshah road in Delhi. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi were 32 and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively, as widespread showers continued to fall over the city.

After the monsoon began last Tuesday, Delhi received rain for two days, but it hasn’t rained much since Thursday, and light to moderate rainfall pounded numerous districts of the national capital on Sunday. The monsoon has been delayed by more than two weeks in Delhi.

According to the IMD, the monsoon season typically begins on June 27 in Delhi and the NCR, with the heaviest rain falling between July 10 and the end of August.
