Margot’s ‘Barbie’ Magic: Box Office Queen Smashes Records!

Woho, woho, woho! So well our very own Barbie, Margot Robbie is soaring sky-high on the success of her movie ‘Barbie,’ which is straight-up fire! Actually, Margot and her husband Tom Ackerley are two of the producers of the film. Some reports from Variety reflect that Margot is about to earn around $50 million from her deal that combines her salary and the office bonus that she will be getting through the backend. The film has made a whopping $526.3 mil in the USA and $657.6 mil overseas. And guess what? That dough keeps rolling in as the earnings are predicted to increase further!

Barbie’s release had a clash with Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ at the box office but still, the movie has left everyone awestruck smashing records left and right. Also the movie’s director Greta Gerwig? She has become the highest-grossing lady director for a live-action film at the global box office! Moreover, Barbie has become Warner Bros.’s second-biggest hit, right after Harry Potter and  Deathly Hallows: Part 2.

Margot dropped this film through her production company, LuckyChap Entertainment. She started that with her husband Tom and pals Josey and Sophia in 2014. And get this twist, as the producer she wanted Gal Gadot to be the Main Barbie! But Gerwig was like, “Nah, girl, that role is made for you!” and she convinced Margot.

Margot spilled to Vogue, “It was not that I ever wanted to play Barbie, or dreamt of being Barbie, or anything like that at all. This is going to sound stupid, but I really had not even thought about playing Barbie until years into bringing the project to life.” Both ‘Barbie’ and ‘Oppenheimer’ hit screens on July 21, 2023, in India and the US. Fans were so excited and they even merged the movie names, kickin’ off the “Barbenheimer” trend, boosting both films to legendary status!
