Passionate about delivering
service that brings the difference in the life of those who matter. Randeep
Singh Kohli is a social activist, a successful entrepreneur, Co-founder of
Barkat Welfare Society, Amritsar Bulletin and Director -World Book of Records,
Australia
ÂLove only grows by sharing. You
can only have more for yourself by giving it away to others. This beautiful
quote of humanitarian Randeep Singh Kohli describes his whole existence and his
work so far.
He is a charismatic gentleman who
is no stranger to social service and humanitarian causes.
Being the grandchild of former
Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Randeep has seen, first hand, what statesmanship
is. In fact, he has learnt it from the best, considering the fact that Dr.
Singh is revered across the political and economic spectrum of the country.
At the age of 19, Randeep and his
elder sister, Pushmeet Kohli, started an NGO, Barkat Welfare Society in
Amritsar. The NGO, launched in 2014, when Kohli was still in the first year of
his college, was aimed at bringing on a Âtransformation of the society out of
its current stupor. They visited various colleges in the city to create
awareness about socio-economic issues plaguing the society. Their work was to
uplift the spirit of the nation by motivating the youngsters to work towards
the greater good. Barkat Society is involved in distributing medical and
education assistance to the needy.
Though his resources were
limited, his passion for social welfare was not. Right from the constantly
changing scenarios to unpredictable issues, he has learnt to be on his toes
throughout it all. The ability to adapt to the changes around him is what
brought him immense success as a socio-entrepreneur. And this is corroborated
by the National Excellence Award  2017, which was accorded to him at an event
in Indore. He has also received a certificate and a medal for the exemplary
social work done through his NGO, Barkat. He has also received an honorary
degree of ÂDoctorate of Philosophy in humanity from the reputed ÂITMUT
University of Brazil.
Born and brought up in the holy
city of Amritsar, Punjab, Randeep has been interested in serving the mankind
right since his childhood days. The inspiration for that came from his father,
S. Mandeep Singh Kohli and mother, Surjit Kaur, whom he saw involved in helping
needy persons in everyday life. When asked about what drives him towards
selfless social work, Randeep said, ÂI am being mechanized this way. My father
taught me and supported me to become a social worker. He is the man whose
presence encourages me to help the ones in need. To me injustice is
intolerable.Â
After finishing his formal
education in Amritsar, he became the Chief Editor of ÂAmritsar BulletinÂ. This
is a printed newspaper, with social media presence on YouTube and Facebook. The
newspaper has subscribers across the world, even in Australia, Canada and
England. The aim of this newspaper is to empower youth with new skills to help
them do better at whatever stations in life they are at. That was the beginning
of a life-long quest for excellence and entrepreneurship for this young,
dynamic man.
Kohli Engineers, founded in 1985,
and re-established as a construction magnate in 1999, was the brainchild of
RandeepÂs father.
Randeep took up the charge in
2016 and with his hard work, honesty and generous spirit, he has made a special
place for himself and his business in his clients hearts.
Today he is the International
Director of ÂWorld Book of Records Australia, which is one of the worldÂs
leading organizations assigning international certifications to individuals,
teams, organizations for creating world records in different fields of life.
The global network of this organization is spread across Europe, North America,
South America, Africa, Asia and Australia. Before this, Randeep has held key
positions like Punjab President of Quality Certification (QC), a global company
that conducts quality control and performance grading through World Book of
Records & World Record and Quality Certification Limited, USA, UK &
INDIA. In other words, it is the certification division of the World Book
Records  London.
Randeep is a skilled orator who
has shared his pearls of wisdom on platforms like TedEx, Josh Talks and MS
Talks. He is a really inspiring figure for the youth of today, who are often
found stuck between what to do and what not to do in their daily lives. He is
also active in the field of social justice. This is proved by the 100 RTI
queries that he has filed to invite attention to public issues.
Most importantly, Randeep finds
solace in a quote by the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, in which the
latter says, ÂThe best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service
of others.Â
