A new study indicates that sound recordings that lure in fish could be important for recovering reefs attacked by supercharged storms and heatwaves. Tim Gordon, a marine biologist at the University of Exeter used underwater loudspeakers to mimic the sounds of thriving reefs to fool the fish into returning. With the help of this novel experiment, Tim hopes to bring dying reefs back to life. He hopes that his experiment will help to attract young fish to the desolate landscape, where they will make new homes and start to rebuild the bank.
