The organizers of the Godyo Podyo Probondho literary festival in Kolkata have announced the name of Sonnet Mondal as the recipient of their Godyo Podyo Probondho Samman 2023 award for excellence in poetry. The honor will be conferred on Sonnet at their annual literary festival to be held from September 1st to September 3rd, 2023. Prominent Hindi poet Tushar Dhawal Singh and multilingual poet and writer Sarabjeet Garcha will also receive the Godyo Podyo Probondho Samman 2023 at the festival.
Sonnet Mondal’s journey as a poet has been one of exploration and self-discovery. Hailing from a small town in West Bengal, his early exposure to literature sparked a passion that would eventually shape his life’s work.
