Surabhi Verma, Author of ‘And she quit her job’ shares her entrepreneurial journey through her new book. The book talks about building your own business and nothing can be as relevant as that in today’s time of lock and unlock. The pandemic has sparked a new tsunami of emotions in people and with the professionals losing their jobs this book emphasizes how freelancing can be a relevant option. 

The book shares wisdom on how to equip yourself to work on your own terms. 

Ms. Verma shares talks about the three major steps to build yourself as an entrepreneur “The book is something to look forward to amid Pandemic. In times where people are losing their jobs we need to be more equipped in thinking to start a freelancing career which will lead to the origination of an entrepreneurial journey . The three most important steps towards that are screening ideas for feasibility, assembling needed resources and actually developing a new business.”

Furthermore, She adds “ One does not need to have a particular formal education to even begin to think about building a business. One can dive into different fields of interests and look for opportunities . There are sectors for instance If one want to start a tech company, experience in business, computer programming and marketing could all be valuable. Also, some industries will likely require some type of education so its always variable”

Ms. Verma stresses towards creating more sensitisation amongst people towards having their own businesses. As there are a lot of stigmas as well that one needs to face when one chooses an entirely new field to explore. We need each other’s support and motivation to aim for the long run. The book helps in building a freelance career from the scratch and that is the need of the hour in the post- pandemic world. The book also talks about being your own boss and that it’s a benchmark which is attainable given that the right amount of work is needed to achieve the goal. 

Surabhi Verma who is now an Entrepreneur herself quit her job when she was just 25 and she decided to write her debut book ‘And She Quit Her Job’. Published in 2018, the book serves as a handbook for people who want to go ahead and be freelancers and work on their own terms. Under her company, The Inception Media, that she set up in 2019, Surabhi has worked with world-renowned clients who are billionaires, CEOs, life coaches, athletes and celebrities. Her end-goal is to create content in any form that sparks a positive change.
