This day is considered highly auspicious for those who like to shop for such items, as gold and silver are thought to protect you from evil omen and anything unpleasant. Because people have not spent much on vacation due to covid, gold sales during Dhanteras could break a four-decade old record, according to IBJA officials. When asked about their propensity to acquire gold, 55% of respondents said they are looking forward to purchasing gold and gold jewellery during the forthcoming holiday season. According to a PTI article, almost 37% of participants stated the auspicious event Dhanteras would be their key reason for purchasing gold.
Meanwhile, ahead of Diwali and Dhanteras, e-commerce behemoth Amazon has announced deals and discounts on gold and silver coins and jewellery.
