Just as Hollywood’s most celebrated Director Christopher Nolan releases his magnum Opus, the world sits down to watch it. The profound cultural interest of the movie revolves around J. Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the atomic bomb– an explosive yet redeeming story of a worldly theoretical physicist who was at last, defeated by his own invention. 

The titular character, flawlessly played by Cillian Murphy is a part machinist, part mystic, rethinking the apocalyptic enclosure of his strongest yet most fragile discovery. After reading many reviews and watching the movie more than once, critics have declared this feature to be the most important film of the century. Thus, making people believe how Oppenheimer moment has changed the world for us, forever.  

The main quarrel that personally hit Nolan’s fans was the implications that Christopher had announced Lewis Strauss (Robert Downey Jr.) to be the main antagonist, yet the unheralded adversary of the movie was Oppenheimer himself. The movie was a well-researched biography on the father of the atomic bomb and it played a keen interest in his personal life. It also depicted how scientists in the 1940s were busy harnessing the power that could lead to a human level extinction, the end of humanity.  

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is an anticipated stroke of genius. Although the film was set in the 1900s, it still has consequences spread wide. The new generation of scientists too, see a similarity between Oppenheimer’s and their new inventions, wondering if their responsibility as scientists developing new technologies every day, may apprehend unwanted consequences on humanity.
