Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is also known as the God of Cricket. All around the world, he is considered one of the greatest cricket players of all time. The former Indian batter represented his country for 24 years and achieved many accolades and records throughout his career. As the cricket world celebrates the 50th birthday of the cricketing genius Sachin Tendulkar, here are some interesting facts about the legend, his career and his life. 

 

  • Youngblood Sachin wanted to become a fast bowler but was rejected by Dennis Lillle’s MRF Pace Foundation in 1987. 
  • In the 1987 World Cup, Sachin was the ball boy for the match, interestingly this match was played between India and Zimbabwe at the Wankhede ground.  
  • Tendulkar also fielded for the Pakistan team as a substitute during a practice match against India at the Brabourne Stadium in 1988. 
  • Sachin Tendulkar is also kind of superstitious. He would put on his left pad before putting on the right one while padding up.
  • In October 1995, Sachin became the richest batter and he signed a contract worth Rs 31.5 crore with World Tel.
  • The little master also has an affection for collecting perfumes and watches.
