India hit the fastest team 50 & 100 in Test cricket
India won the T20 World Cup three months ago, yet the batting unit still feels nostalgic and continues to play…
IPL chairman Arun Dhumal recently ended the rumours of an IPL mega auction for the upcoming edition 2025. He said that IPL 2025 will have a mega auction and that we will share the rules and regulations shortly. Until now, there has not been any confirmation of how many players a franchise can retain and what is the luxury of the Right to Match (RTM). In the last mega auction, a franchise could retain up to a maximum of 4 players and had one RTM available in the auction.
This confirmation raised fans’ eyebrows about whether their favourite star would play for the same franchise in the next session. An all-franchise meeting will take place on 16 April, where they can discuss the retention policy and inform the Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI) about the same.
Now, the future of so many legends is covered with a shadow. Will they continue their IPL run with the same franchise, or will they have a new jersey waiting for them? Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravi Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Andre Russel, Sunil Narine, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are the IPL GOATs who spend most of their time with the same franchise.
However, as the boom of youngsters comes every year, and sometimes they can even outshine these legends, looking into the game’s future, it takes a lot of work for these legends to stay home with the same team. One of the most discussed players amid all this conversation is the five-time winning captain and the OG of the IPL, Rohit Sharma.
Every member of the cricket fraternity knows what happened with Rohit Sharma in the trading window in 2024. This elevates the rumours that Rohit Sharma will not be part of Mumbai Indians (MI) in the next edition of the Indian Premier League. Ahead of IPL 2024, there were speculations that some franchises were in touch with Rohit Sharma, but the veteran decided to stay.
Recently, Rohit’s colleague and former IPL legend Ambati Raydu took a dig at MI and suggested the Hitman switch his future to Chennai Super Kings and end his career in the Yellow Sea. Delhi Capitals was also in touch with Rohit Sharma for the trade with David Warner but this did not happen.
Amidst all this, the Lucknow Super Giants is another team that appears thrilled about the idea of signing Rohit, should the chance present itself. In an interview, when Rohit’s name was mentioned, LSG coach Justin Langer seemed excited. He was asked to name one player he would like to see join the team. “I want one guy, please? Who do you think I should have if I could have anyone?” Langer posed this question to the interviewee.” The interviewer added, “We’ve covered most of our bases. However, do you think you can convince Rohit Sharma?” Langer asked, his face lit up with a radiant smile.
“Rohit Sharma? Hehe. We’re heading to Mumbai to pick him up. The coach said, “Well, you better be the negotiator.” Cricket is a game of fairy tales; we never know what will happen in the future; as fans, we can only predict the outcomes. But as of now, Rohit Sharma sealed his honesty and hid it in some corner of his home, Wankhede Stadium, the fortress of Mumbai Indians.
