Seven police officials suspended after 1 was killed and 10 were injured in Begusarai

A day later a string of firing incid+ent in the Begusarai district of Bihar where a man was killed and 10 were injured, the state police suspended around seven police officials. Jitendra Singh Gangwar, the additional director general of police, Bihar, said in a statement that every incident pointed out towards the fact that even though the patrolling party was there on the streets still they failed to stop the criminals. Gangwar also said that the police are verifying the identities and checking every CCTV footage. 

 

Five persons have been detained since last night, according to Begusarai SP  Yogendra Kumar, and interrogation is still going on. He added that up to four teams had been formed to find the accused.“Teams are searching all the neighbouring districts at every suspected spot. The team is constantly working towards checking all the evidence including CCTVs to ascertain essential information.” Kumar told. 

 

The superintendent also informed that every border of Begusarai district has been sealed and check-up posts have been put up. Additionally, each and every person who was recently released from prison are being identified and the process to find a common link is currently ongoing. 

 

Bihar’s chief minister Nitish Kumar had a word with the director general of police (DGP) SK Singhal to enquire about the firing incident that took place. A police officer revealed that on Tuesday two unidentified bike-borne attackers opened fire at 10 different locations in Begusarai. The first incident of firing was reported from a region that was under the Teghra police station at around 6 pm. The next nine firings were reported from Phulwaria, Barauni, Bachwara and Chakia police station areas in the next 40 minutes. Furthermore, all 10 firings took place within the area of 30 kilometres. Satyaveer Singh who is the deputy inspector general said that assaulters appeared to have entered from Patna. He also added that a high alert has been placed in both the capital of Bihar and Begusarai post the incident.
