RIL to open India’s largest convention center at Jio World Centre, Mumbai

On Friday, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) owned by Mukesh Ambani announced the opening of the Nation’s largest and most prestigious convention center at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). “Envisioned by Nita Ambani, the director of Reliance Industries and Founder-Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, Jio World Centre is spread in the area of 18.5 acres. The convention center is going to become an iconic business, commerce, and culture destination, giving India and its citizens a world-class landmark.” RIL told in a statement. 

The Jio World Centre will have a phase-wise opening over the current and next year. The center has three exhibition halls that spread over an area of more than 1.61 lakh square feet. It also has hybrid and digital experiences enabled by the 5G network. The kitchen has a capacity of providing over 18,000 meals a day. There are two convention halls and a ballroom that can accommodate over 10,040 and 3200 guests respectively. There are a total of 25 meeting rooms with a total area of 29062 square feet. The center also has India’s largest on-site parking with a capacity of 5,000 cars. 

Nita Ambani expressed her views on the announcement and said, “Jio World Centre is a tribute to our glorious nation and a reflection of the aspirations of New India. From the largest conventions to cultural experiences to pathbreaking retail and dining facilities, Jio World Centre is envisioned as Mumbai’s new landmark, a point where we come together to script the next chapter of India’s growth story.” 

The Dhirubhai Ambani Square opened at the Jio World Centre which is dedicated to Dhirubhai Ambani and the city of Mumbai focuses on the Fountain of Joy. It is a series of fountain shows of water, music, and lights. The fountain symbolizes our country India and its diversity. It features eight fire shooters, 392 water jets, and over 600 LED lights. The square will open every evening and people can book free passes on ‘dhirubhaiambanisquare.com.’ 

Jio World Center will also include a cultural center, lavish cafes and fine dining restaurants, serviced offices and apartments, world-class stores for the best shopping experience and it will also have new culinary concepts which will include the Oberoi 360 and the India Accent. 

The Center is due to launch in the year 2023.
